You will need to map out the placement of your LED flood lights to determine the access to the necessary wires to connect the light boxes.

Shutting off the Main Power

As with any lighting project that involves you working with electrical wires, the main power should be turned off and remain so until after you have completed the wiring project. You maybe placing yourself in danger if you work around a live power source while attempting to wire the boxes necessary for the insertion of the LED bulbs. Having the power shut off and remaining off during the wiring process will help you safely complete the job and prevent a power surge or other hazard from affecting your electricity.

To shut off the power, simply locate the main circuit breakers, which are typically located in the basement of your home. With the power located, shut off the circuit. When you have completed the wiring of the light boxes, restore the power at the circuit board main.

Match the Wires Accordingly

The wires on the light box should match the corresponding wires in your home's electrical circuit. The negative and positive wires need to be attached and taped, using plastic electrical caps if necessary in order to prevent moisture or liquid from getting into the electrical circuit and causing a short. Generally look to matching the red wire with the red wire, black wire with the black wire and cap any green or neutral ground wire that may be part of the light box or the home's electrical circuit.
